National Chung Hsing University Foreign Students Dual-Degree Program Scholarships 

 

Award


NT$6,000(USD$200) of stipend per month.
Tuition and miscellaneous fees are waived (not including insurance, accommodation, and computer equipment fee).
Subsidy of airfare: subsidize the one-way ticket to Taiwan (NTD$5,000/USD$166 per semester)
Applicants can have all financial assistance at the same time.


Eligibility


Foreign students who apply for the Dual-Degree program with excellent academic performance.
A foreign student who apply for the NCHU lab exchange first, and apply for the Dual-Degree program.
Resumption of Scholarship (Currently enrolled students):
Undergraduate: Applicants should submit the transcript of last semester to the Division of International Education of OIA.
Graduate school: applicants should submit the transcript of last semester to the Division of International Education of OIA
Application time
Fall semester: January 1 to March 15.
Spring semester: August 1 to October 15.
Application material
The same material applies to the dual-degree program.


Application and review procedures


Step 1: Applicant should send their material to OIA(This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.), and first reviewed by the Division of  International Education, then the list of priority students are sent to respective colleges. 

Step 2: The colleges will submit the results to the National Chung Hsing University Scholarship of Dual-Degree Program Review Committee after a second screening.

Step 3: Scholarship recipients are decided after the president approves the list, and recipients will be notified afterward. The duration for the scholarships is one academic year (from September to next July).

However, the scholarship duration for recipients enrolled in the Spring semester is from February to December of the year. 
The enrolled student should send the academic transcript of last semester to the Division of International Education before the new semester start. The scholarships will be transferred into recipients’ bank accounts every month. 

Notices


The recipient can’t change their research area without permission once they received the scholarship. If the recipient changes their research area without permission, then the recipient will lose the qualification immediately. The recipient should return the scholarship to NCHU in 90 days. If the student refuses to return the money, then NCHU will follow the regulations in the contract to take the scholarship back. 
The recipient should arrive at NCHU on time, or the recipient will lose the qualification.
The recipient should study in NCHU for a least one academic year, or lose qualification and has to return the scholarship to NCHU.
Scholarship recipients will be disqualified if they receive more than NT$15,000 per month (excluding this scholarship) from other scholarships in the same year as receiving this scholarship.
Chinese students can't apply for this scholarship.
