New Degree Students - After Arrival

1. Report to OIA

1st stop: OIA 
2nd stop: Your department office

Please bring the following documents
•    Admission Letter*1
•    Verified Diploma*1
•    Verified Transcript *1
•    Passport *1 (Personal page)
•    Passport *1 (Visa page)
•    2-inch Photos*2

If applicable, please bring a copy of
•    Both Sides of A.R.C. *1
•    Taiwan Govt. Scholarship Certificate*1
•    NHI Card*1
•    Post Office Account Book*1
•    Health Check-up Report (Form B、C & NCHU student Health report)

 

2. Orientation

Bring the documents given on the report day (In your gift bag), pen, personal information documents, and Student handbook (Digital file)

 

3. Pay tuition, miscellaneous, and other fees

Login to eschool website to download the tuition bill. Mark that even you're tuition waiver student will also need to pay for miscellaneouse / insurance on your own share.

4. Select Courses online

Check here for Course Selection information. Remember to Update your email address to receive important messages.

5. Visit the Immigration Agency:Applying for  A.R.C.(Alien Resident Certificate) & R.O.C. number

For Resident Visa holders
Apply the A.R.C. within 15 days of arrival. Your R.O.C. number will also be printed on ARC. 
(For a foreigner intended to reside for more than 180 days, one has to apply for an Alien Resident Certificate in Taiwan.
You will be penalized if failing to apply the A.R.C. within 15 days of arrival.)
 
For Visitor-Visa holders :Only need to apply for a R.O.C. number.

6. Visit the Post office to Open an Account

If you would like to apply for a scholarship/ part-time job/insurance reimbursement, your Post Office Account needs to be hand into the OIA within 2 weeks.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
a.    Application Form
b.    C.R.S. Self‐Certification Form
c.    a hard copy of passport personal info & Visa page
d.    a hard copy of R.O.C. Number sheet
e.    Signature (Or seal, also acceptable) – Optional
f.     NTD$100 (Deposit)

 

7. Claim your Student ID card

Pick up your student ID card at the Office of International Affairs when received an Email notice. 
Note that you must have done the following things prior to claiming your card:

a.    Paying fees (Ex. tuition, dormitory, insurance)
b.    Selecting Courses
c.    Hand in the copy of the R.O.C. number sheet/ A.R.C. to OIA.
d.    Hand in the copy of the Post Office account passbook cover to OIA.
e.    Registration for Bus card

9. Health Insurance

If you don't have insurance in Taiwan, your medical cost will be very expensive.
It very important for you to know the three kinds of insurance.
(a)Students Safety Insurance
(b)Foreign Students Insurance
(c)National Health Insurance
