I. These Guidelines are promulgated to promote the international academic exchanges of the school, further the student exchange program, and strengthen the cooperation with partner institutions.為促進本校國際學術交流,推動交換學生事宜,並加強與姊妹校之合作,特訂定本要點。
II. Exchange students as referred to in these Guidelines shall mean students studying in the departments or graduate schools of a partner institution that has an academic collaboration agreement with the school. Such students are categorized into general exchange students and laboratory exchange students. In the case where the exchange students study at an institution with no standing academic collaboration agreement with the school, these Guidelines are only applicable after the application has been approved.
本要點所指之交換學生為就讀於與本校簽訂學術合作協議書姊妹校之大學部或研究所學生,分為一般交換學生及實驗室交換學生。如就讀未與本校簽訂學術合作協議者,需經專案核准始可適用。
III. Students from partner institutions who apply to be exchange students at the school shall submit the following documents to the Office of International Affairs of the school by
mail within the specified deadline set in the admission brochure of that year. The school will issue acceptance certificates to those approved by the International Academic
Exchange Review Committee姊妹校學生申請至本校交換就讀,應依當年度簡章所定期限,檢附下列文件郵寄本校國際事務處申請,經本校國際學術交流審查委員會審查合格後發給入學許可:
(I) Exchange program application (with a two-inch, half-length photo attached, no hat).交換學生計畫申請表(附貼二吋脫帽半身照片)
(II) Enrollment certificate of the partner institution.原屬學校之在學證明
(III) Official transcript of the partner institution (English or Chinese).原屬學校之正式成績單(英文或中文)
(IV) Two recommendation letters.兩封推薦函
(V) Study plan in Chinese or English.中文或英文讀書計畫書
(VI) An autobiography, 300 to 500 words in length and written in Chinese or English.以中文或英文撰述三百至五百字之自傳
IV. The procedure for reviewing exchange student applications is as follows: The Office of International Affairs will conduct the initial reviews, and then the applications will be
transferred to the department (graduate school) the student intends to study for the second reviews. Subject to the approvals of the department (graduate school), the applications will be sent to the Office of International Affairs for processing and passed to the president for approval.
交換學生審查之程序為:申請案件先經國際事務處進行初審後,轉交學生所擬就讀之系(所)複審,經系(所)簽註意見;學院同意後送回國際事務處彙辦,簽請校長核定。
V. Unless otherwise provided by relevant regulations of the Ministry of Education or the collaboration agreement between the school and its partner institution, exchange students
from the partner institutions to our school for research shall be handled in accordance with the following principles姊妹校交換學生至本校研修,除教育部相關辦法或本校與姊妹校之合約另有規定之外,應依下列原則辦理:
(I) Terms of the exchange: The terms of exchange for general exchange students shall be one semester in principle, and laboratory exchange students are not subject to the
above-mentioned constraint. However, the terms of exchange for both shall not exceed an academic year in principal.
交換年限:一般交換學生申請交換期間以一學期為原則,實驗室交換學生不受前述學期起訖限制,惟兩者皆以不超過一學年為原則
(II) Expenses: Handled reciprocally in accordance with the collaboration agreements between the school and the partner institutions. For items not specified in the
collaboration agreements, students shall bear the relevant costs.
費用:依本校與姊妹校合約或協議書互惠辦理。協議書未規定者,學生需自行負擔相關費用
(III) Curriculum: The Office of International Affairs, the Division of Curriculum of Office of Academic Affairs, and other relevant departments and graduate schools will
assist the exchange students to select their courses. The exchange students shall take at least two courses in each semester, including at least one course offered by the
department or graduate school of the exchange program. In light of the language barrier, foreign exchange students may take courses from their colleges to meet the
aforementioned course selection requirement. With the consents of their advisors, laboratory exchange students can conduct academic exchanges in the laboratory
without being subject to the afore-mentioned course selection requirement.
課程:由本校國際事務處、教務處課務組及相關系所協助交換學生選課,每學期至少要求修習兩門課程,其中至少需含交換系所開設之一門課程,外籍交換學生囿於語言能力,得選修所屬學院之課程,以符合前述選課規定。實驗室交換學生經其指導教授同意,在所屬實驗室研究交流,得不受前述兩門課程之限制。
(IV) The Office of International Affairs and the Office of Student Affairs shall assist the exchange students during their terms of exchanges with the accommodation
arrangements, matters related to their daily lives, visas, etc.
交換學生在本校期間之住宿安排、生活及簽證等事宜由本校國際事務處及學務處協助之
VI. Students who have been approved to participate in the exchange programs at the school in accordance with the preceding article may apply for scholarships. The amounts and number of recipients depend on the budgets of that year. The duration of the scholarship is limited to the terms of exchange at the school, and the accumulative durations shall not exceed one year.
前條經核定來校就讀之學生得申請獎助,獎助金額及名額視當年度經費預算而定,獎助期限以在本校交流期間為限,累計受獎年限不得超過一年
VII. Students who intend to apply for the scholarships shall apply to the Office of International Affairs when participating in the exchange program at the school. After being reviewed and recommended by the International Academic Exchange Review Committee, the applications are passed to the president for final approvals.
擬申請獎助金之學生,應於申請來校交換時,向國際事務處提出申請,經國際學術交流審查委員會審查獲推薦,簽請校長核定後,始頒發獎學金
VIII.The International Academic Exchange Review Committee is convened by the Vice President for International Affairs. Apart from the Vice President for International Affairs,
the committee is composed of Vice President for Academic Affairs, Vice President for Research and Development, and committee members recommended by each college (one
per college). If a committee member is unable to attend a meeting in person, he/she may appoint a proxy to attend. The review meeting may only be convened with majority of
members in attendance and the Director of the Division of Academic Exchange, Office of International Affairs shall be present.
國際學術交流審查委員會由國際長召集,成員除國際長外,其餘由教務長、研發長及各學院所推薦之委員各一名組成。委員不克出席時,可派員代理出席。審查會議需經二分之一以上委員出席始得召開,國際事務處學術交流組組長列席
IX. These Guidelines shall be implemented after approval by the International Affairs Meeting and authorization by the President. The same shall apply to any amendments.
