Current Students - Work Permit
International students who wish to work in Taiwan (including in NCHU laboratories) for additional income must apply for a work permit.
How to apply a work permit?
- 
	Online work permit application system (after paying tuition fee) 
- 
	Upload the required documents 
(It takes 7-14 working days to be issued)
Required Documents
- 
	Fill in the online Application form 
- 
	A copy of both sides of student's ID 
- 
	A copy of valid Passport 
- 
	Formal Certificate of Enrollment of each semester ※ Formal Certificate of Enrollment that is provided by the OIA can't be used to apply for Work Permit ※ Please pay the tuition fees and complete the course selection, then print at the 1st floor of Administration Building 
- 
	Consent Form 
- 
	Get a payment slip at OIA, pay at the Post Office:100NT

Regulations
- 
	Each student may work up to 20 hours per week (excluding summer/winter vacation). 
- 
	According to the Employment Services Act, if you work without a work permit, you will be fined from NTD 30,000 to NTD 150,000 and you may have to leave Taiwan immediately. 
- 
	According to the "Regulations on the Permission and Administration of the Employment of Foreign Workers," you can apply for the student work permit only if you are officially enrolled as a degree student in any university in Taiwan. 
- 
	You should return the work permit (if valid) to OIA office if you are suspended or discontinue your education at NCHU. 
- 
	For applications made in the first semester, the work permit is valid until March 31st of the next semester; for applications made in the second semester, the work permit is valid until September 30th of the same year. The maximum validity period of a work permit is six months. 
-
